City Permits

If you want to build anything that involves structural demolition or affects previous plumbing, mechanical and electrical work, you will need to apply for a city permit.

If you are building a residential project where you will need to submit mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans within the same application, then any extra permits can be submitted within that application. However, if you’re building a commercial space, you will need to submit all documents with the entire construction plan for each permit. Whether you need one, or multiple permits, we will help you acquire them.

Before submitting your project to get city permits, we will do the following:

  • Read through the entire application so that we can decide what’s needed
  • Mark the required types of permits on top of your application
  • Offer a detailed project description including the proposed work at the site
  • Make sure that the declaration on the back is completed and initialized depending on your project
  • Require your signature as the property owner

The permit application should be sent with:

  • Three copies of the plan sets
  • A construction or demolition plan
  • Two copies of supporting documents like civil calculation, stormwater prevention plan and an engineer report

Our permit technician will explain the entire process and the right forms needed to submit a permit application

One Stop Plan

This is a permit given after sending someone to evaluate an area for small residential remodels, tenants’ improvements, and signs.  One-stop plan services cannot include:

  • Additions
  • Costly projects
  • Occupancy changes

If you have a large or complex project, we will first plan a consultation with a city planner before submitting your application. This is to avoid your application being rejected.
